Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina (or Antonia) Shevchenko fights as an Kyrgyzstani Muay Thai fighter for the UFC's flyweight division. She is the older sister of the fellow UFC fighter and the former UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko started her combat sports journey by becoming a Muay Thai Kickboxer and debuted at the IFMA World Championship Tournament 2003 Shevchenko won the tournament and beat Suzane Miller at the end of the tournament by an unanimity. Antonina Shevchenko took home a second medal in 2007 with a bronze, a silver in 2008, a gold in the year 2011, and then was named the IFMA Amateur World MuayThai Champion in the year 2016. Antonia began her professional journey in 2003 and won an award at the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012. She also won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016 and the WMC as well as the Phoenix FC World Championships in 2016. Antonina's last fight was at Phoenix Fighting Championship against Isa Tidblad Keskikangas. The winner was a unanimity. Antonina Schevchenko set her professional MMA records in 2002 when she took on Anara Bazanova at KFK Cup in Kyrgystan. She took the win via a second round TKO followed by 2 more fights at WXF X-Impact World Championships to get a 3-0 record. Shevchenko was absent from MMA in order to concentrate on boxing. She returned to fight Anissa haddaoui, at Phoenix FC 3, 2017. Shevchenko defeated Anissa in an unanimous decision. She then went on to beat Valerie Domergue during Phoenix FC 4. Following the league's dissolution in 2018, Shevchenko was a part of Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera on Dana White Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina TKO'd Nievera with her impressive striking ability in the final clinch through knees to the body. Antonina's UFC contract was renewed following this victory. Antonina was offered an UFC contract following her win. Shevchenko took victory in a unanimous victory, however she fell in the second round to Roxanne Modafferi via a split decision. Antonina bounced back from the loss, and defeated Lucie Pudilova at UFC on ESPN Covington vs. Lawler via second-round rear-naked choke and won the prize of the night during the bout. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record in her subsequent three bouts. She defeated Ariane Lipski but lost to Katlyn Chokagian and Andrea Lee. Antonina recently lost by TKO in round two to Casey O'Neill, at UFC Fight Night Santos Vs. Walker.
