Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has worked as a chef, TV personality in the United States as well as an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef, with her trademark hairstyle and her pumped up appearance, offers simple techniques that anybody can learn. Chef Burrell has worked in New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine tradition and its landscape. Additionally, she competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. While growing up in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell discovered a love for food and cooking early on. The Culinary Institute of America was the next stage for her after she graduated with the Bachelor of Arts in English as well as Communications in the fall of 2004 from Canisius College Buffalo NY. I was awed by every minute that I was a student in The Culinary Institute of America she says. I couldn't seem to get enough pleasure from the experience. After graduating, Burrell worked at La Bottega del 30 in Tuscany and La Taverna del Lupo (in Umbria) as she attended an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. While in Italy she developed an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian cuisine. It had a significant influence on her perception of food. Burrell is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of kids who struggle. Burrell is also an Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Advocate in which she has a mission to raise awareness for juvenile diabetics. She talks about her culinary love and imparts her experiences in the food world, as she regularly is in the United States for various roles such as speakers and mentors. Anne always felt fortunate that she had the opportunity to share her love that she had for cooking with others.
